The Hybrid 5-Driver System — The Dynamic Driver (Part 7)

Hello again!

The Aura Nebula features a Hybrid 5-Driver system, combining a 10mm dynamic driver, a 6mm planar driver, two balanced armature (BA) drivers, and a micro-planar driver. This configuration is the core identity of the Aura Nebula and a rare technical highlight in the current TWS market.

While all four types and five individual drivers are essential to the overall sound, each has a specific role and performance expectation. Today, we focus on the Dynamic Driver.

The Foundation of the Soundstage
The dynamic driver is responsible for delivering bass that balances quantity with a natural feel, forming the foundation of an expansive and immersive soundstage.  Its core coverage is aimed squarely at the low-frequency range. Since the dynamic driver is the type SOUNDPEATS has the most extensive experience with, its implementation is where our technical expertise truly shines.

Refining the Diaphragm and Voice Coil
The most significant update here is the re-evaluation of the diaphragm and voice coil materials. For the φ10mm diaphragm, we chose a composite of PU (polyurethane) resin—valued for its flexibility and breathability—and natural wool fibers. This combination produces a powerful yet expansive bass, while sketching out a warm and natural texture for vocals.

This PU + Wool composite was previously utilized in our premium H3 model (released in 2025). For the Aura Nebula, we’ve carefully tuned it to balance the sharper, more metallic characteristics of the other drivers, drawing heavily on the acoustic expertise accumulated during the H3 project.

Material Selection: Why We Chose PU + Wool over PEEK
During development, we also considered other materials, such as PEEK (Polyetheretherketone). While PEEK offers an excellent balance of physical properties, we weren't entirely satisfied with its tonal profile; it lacked the specific "warmth" we were looking for.

While PEEK is an excellent material on its own, for a complex configuration like the Aura Nebula's Hybrid 5-Driver system, we found the PU + Wool composite to be the best choice for achieving overall acoustic balance and emotional expression.
